High-Rise Facade Shakes Loose?

High Winds and Loose Bolts Rattle Facade on 18-Story Tower, ENR November 24, 2003, reports evacuation of a Wilmington, Deleware high-rise and two adjacent buildings when occupants reported 1-inch or greater gaps appearing between the building's stone and glass curtainwall and its interior construction.

The problem was determined to be the result of loose curtainwall connecting bolts. It's not know whether the bolts were improperly installed in the original construction or had worked loose over the 14-year life of the building.
